About

Sydney Mason is a compelling self-taught oil painter, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, whose artistic journey began during 2020's cultural awakening. Her artwork captures the depth of Black stories through realism and marries classical technique with contemporary narratives, ensuring each piece resonates with raw emotion and cultural gravity. Sydney enjoys creating masterful oil painting that transcend the canvas - each stroke intentionally documenting our stories, celebrating our excellence, and sparking vital conversations about the Black experience. Sydney has exhibited her artwork in various shows including the Black Girl Art Show in Charlotte and Atlanta in 2023, Art Basel Miami 2023, Behind Her Eyes-Unmasking the Unseen exhibition in the legendary Miya Bailey's Hidden Gallery, and Fresh Perspectives at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC. Sydney currently has her custom portrait of Glorilla exhibiting in the Trap Music Museum in Atlanta, GA. Sydney's art will build a global legacy that transcends cultural boundaries while authentically documenting our stories and shared humanity. Ultimately, transforming blank canvases into powerful cultural touchstones rooted in love, purpose, and unwavering authenticity.
